- Respect Other Members.
Do not use abusive names when referring to other forum members. Try to avoid attacking the person, even when you are angry. Stay focused on the topic and do not make it personal.
- Observe Accepted Forum Decorum.
Do not be unnecessarily combative. Stay on-topic for a given thread, or else begin a new thread with the topic that you're interested in discussing.
- Be Responsible.
Do not post or link to offensive materials. Keep it PG-13. Anything deemed offensive by the forum moderators is liable to be removed without notice.
- Respect the Law.
Do not encourage other users to break the law (including piracy laws). Do not post material that doesn't belong to you or for which you do not have authorization. Do not plagiarize other people's work.
- Be Real and Honest.
Do not "troll" the forum. Your posting privileges will be removed. New posters are asked to create a new thread in Introductions before posting on the open forum. The first three posts of all new members require moderator approval. This is a measure we have taken to avoid spam on the forum.
- Spam is not kosher.
Don't share it here!
- Use Signature Space Responsibly.
Your signature may contain links to your own personal blog, Facebook page or website but may not contain links to websites selling things. It should also not contain links to evangelistic websites, no matter how well-crafted you think the site is. Be original.
- Forum Diversity.
Remember that this forum is composed of people from various backgrounds (whether Reform, Conservative, Reconstructionist, Orthodox, Humanist, Secular Jewish or just interested in Jewish life, religion and culture). Not everyone here will be like you. Not everyone here will agree with you. Respect the right of others to disagree.
- Evangelizing / Proselytizing.
Proselytizing on this forum is prohibited. Please do not approach members about conversion to other religions such as Christianity or Islam. Sharing your beliefs, views and opinions is welcomed, but attempting to convert others to your religion will not be tolerated.
- Quoting of Religious Texts.
If you would like to discuss religious texts outside of Judaism, direct your post to the World Religion forum. This includes the Christian Bible (New Testament), the Qur'an, the Book of Mormon and any other text not belonging to the branches of Judaism.
