There's an old tradition that we are supposed to recite a special verse from the Bible that is personal to each of us, in that it begins with the first letter of our name, and ends with the last letter of our name.  Some siddurim give a list of suggested verses that correspond to various names, but I found this handy list online:

I thought it might be interesting if we looked up whatever verse corresponded to our screen names here, and posted it.  I'll start with mine. Channalee begins with a ח and ends with a י (beginning and ending letters appear in the right-hand column of the text I linked above):

Mine is Psalm 89:2

The kindnesses of the Lord I shall sing forever; to generation after generation I shall make known Your faithfulness, with my mouth.

What's yours? Smile
“Even fools are thought wise if they keep silent, and discerning if they hold their tongues.” (Prov. 17:28, NIV)
גַּ֤ם אֱוִ֣יל מַֽ֭חֲרִישׁ חָכָ֣ם יֵֽחָשֵׁ֑ב אֹטֵ֖ם שְׂפָתָ֣יו נָבֽוֹן׃
Daniel 2:6 - Written in Aramaic. דְּנָה חֶלְמא וּפִשְׁרֵהּ נֵאמַר קֳדָם-מַלְכָּא: This is the dream, and we will tell its interpretation before the king.
Thanks for participating, everyone!  I love seeing what verses you got!

This time I did my actual Hebrew name (רחל) and I got Deuteronomy 32:39

See now that it is I! I am the One, and there is no god like Me! I cause death and grant life. I strike, but I heal, and no one can rescue from My Hand!

Wicked cool. Cool

Baruch

I like this verse . . .Psalms - 118 -24

This is the day that the Lord made; we shall exult and rejoice thereon.

It doesn't fit my name. . . But I like it anyway:=))

That's a great one, Baruch! (Listen for your screen-name in this song!)

My Hebrew name is Moshe, what does that correlate to?

משה gets Psalm 118:5:

From the straits I called God; God answered me with a vast expanse.

Baruch

Thanks!  I love the music of Julie Geller

This is for you, Baruch.  ברוך gets Psalm 119:12

Blessed are You, O Lord; teach me Your statutes.

This verse is especially fitting, not only because it starts with a Bet and ends with a Khaf, but also because the first word in the verse is "Baruch."
