The difference being that the expulsion from Germany was internal. The expulsion from Poland was an external surprise, because of the so-called "Lightning War". Today, because of lighning speed communication, the equivalent of an immediate round-up of this type would be imposible, without a communications block.
On the other hand, the percentage of Jews who chose to remain in Germany believed or wanted to believe that National Socialist rule would only be temporary. The disillusioned ones, of whom still had the opportunity of leaving, were of course successful. Of course, not in every case, if we recall Britain's refusal to let refugee ships dock in Palestine.
That's why historical comparisons to today's situation is somewhat imaginarilly inflated.
A renewed genocide wouldn't turn blind eyes these days, like it did back then.
