Pressure to assissilate - COmentator - 12-21-2023
Even in TV Programs Sing a song of pressure to assissilate into a non Jewish way of life is there:
*The Jazz Singer; He faces a difficult decisiion as to stay within Jewish faith or bercome a professional Jazz singer. {he chooses Singing}
*Archie Bunker place: Archie Bunker Business Jewish partner weather he should marry a Shiska or not because it would displease his mother; the mother dies and he marries out of faith
*The waltons One of Waltons son has just finished tour of Duty in europe-he falls in love with an assimmlated Jewish girl; she deceided tomarry him
*A similar Case was in the Comedy Bridget Loves bernie: Working class Jewish Cab driver falls in love with Irish roman Catholic lace curtian upper class girl ;their two families are in conflict as to how the children should in raised in which religion. Ironically the persons who agree on most things are Bernie Jewish Uncle and Bridget brother (A Catholic Priest) OF course the series was canceled ...but the question is never answered for the children religions training: Bris vs Baptism; Bar Mizpath vs Confirmation; Hannak vs Christmas which will they choose?

As I recall assissilating requires becoming a monk, moving to Assissi and hanging out with animals. Doesn’t sound very attractive as a life choice to me. Probably the reason not many Jews assissilate.
