That also without my even having condemned them for seeking to justify or excuse the October 7th, 2023 massacre!

This is my first post on this website and while meaning no disrespect to the Admin. here, I would like to respond to part of the "Official Staff Communication". If doing so is not tolerated, then my sojourn here may prove to be rather brief.
It states:

This has gone on for decades and is also, obviously, horrific."

This term though also used in Israel, is inaccurate, because those people are Jewish villagers who come either from Jews whose families managed to stay in the land of Israel despite invasion and occupation since Biblical times, or from Jewish returnee-exiles: Judaism is both and ethnicity as well as a religion.
One only has to look at a map of the indigenous Post-Biblical Jewish Hasmonean Kingdom, to see that modern Israel is Re-established within the Jewish ancestral-homeland, including Judah and Samaria ("West Bank").

People tend not to define the term "Palestinian territory/lands". The Palestinian Arabs claim ALL of Israel, but no one can establish from them any objective internationally-recognized evidence to support any such claims. Instead, the Media state that the Palestinian Arabs "want" the land for a state, yet there is never any verification for any such claim. The Palestinian Arabs mostly originate from Foreign-Arab-Migrant-Workers who arrived in the land of Israel just prior to, and during the British Mandate [I can provide sources to verify this, if permitted to do so].
The Palestinian Arabs obtained autonomy of about 40% of Judah and Samaria ("West Bank") and the whole of Gaza, under the Oslo Accords (aka the "Palestinian Territories"); afterwhich they: Continued to claim ALL the land, continued with terrorism, and with firing thousands of rockets at Israeli cities.
Under the Oslo Accords Israel is permitted to build homes (aka "settlements") in Area C of Judah and Samaria ("West Bank"). It is those Jewish homes to which the description "drive into" wrongly and unfairly refers. When such homes are built, the Palestinian Arabs complain to the Media and NGOs, but those homes are permitted under the Oslo Accords. The Palestinian Arabs also have the policy to turn up in the middle of the night to set up tents and commence building, which then as in any other country get demolished for lack of any building permit; the Palestinian Arabs then also complain about that to the Media and NGOs.

This appears to be a description of what typically occurs when Muslim youths have attended the Mosque for prayers. Once the prayers have completed the youths throw stones (typically employing sling-shots) at Jews nearby, or they produce knives to attack Jews. The Media then report that the Muslims have been attacked during prayers.
As a result of these typical circumstances, the Israeli police now tend to prohibit worshipers under the age of 50 from entering certain areas during flashpoint festivals.
Israel respects all religions, has Arab citizens, and Arab lawmakers, and some Arab political parties formed part of a previous Israeli governing coalition.

Please bear in mind that the international Media is the source for most people's impressions of Israel and what is occurring in Israel, but unfortunately most International Media though much of its coverage of news is objective and fair in most news situations, is completely-biased against Israel. For example, France 24 English, which reports most news of incidents in Israel only from the Palestinian Arabs viewpoint, and the pundits they interview appear to be pre-screened to agree with the Channel's bias.
The United Nations likewise a force for good in most situations, except regarding Israel, where it is completely biased in favor of the Palestinian Arabs. The U.N. and its structures have for many years had a built-in pro Palestinian Arab bias. The Palestinian Arabs start-off in U.N. votes by enjoying a block-vote in their favor of up to 56 Arab and additional Islamic-aligned countries (e.g. U.N. member states that are also members of the "Organization of Islamic Cooperation" and follow its policies when voting in the U.N.), and influence of Arab oil money with consequential trading power; compared to Israel being just one country.
As a result of this bias, the U.N. policies regard Israel as being in illegal-occupation of parts of the Jewish people's ancestral-homeland. This despite modern Israel having been
Re-established within the Jewish ancestral-homeland as can be seen as mentioned above from a map of the post-Biblical Jewish Hasmonean Kingdom.
There has never been any indigenous "Palestine" / Arab sovereign state within the land of Israel upon which the Palestinian Arabs could base any claim to any part of the land.
It follows that having used Lawfare to wrongly-accuse the Jewish people of Illegally-occupying their own ancestral-homeland, the U.N. based on the falsehood of "illegal-occupation", then also go on to accuse Israel of having "illegal settlements". These wrongful U.N. policies are in contravention of the Oslo Accords which are international law.
This then is on what the Palestinian Arabs base their complaints to the Media and to NGOs, and also upon which Media and NGO bias against Israel, is wrongly justified.
Here is how to immediately-end Israel's alleged illegal-occupation and consequential alleged illegal-settlements:
The U.N. should immediately repeal its wrongful policy alleging an Israeli "illegal occupation" of any part of the Jewish people's ancestral-homeland of Israel, and apologize to the Jewish people for all the years of that trumped-up charge.
Something similar has already occurred - The U.N. resolution that had compared Zionism (Jewish nationalism) with racism, was eventually repealed!

The Discussion thread title wrongly assumes as a fact that there is a genocide taking place in Gaza. There is no proper or credible evidence for any such accusation. Israel's evacuation orders for Gaza civilians to clear areas of conflict is inconsistent with any such alleged policy. In my personal view, one would be seeing significantly higher casualty figures if there were any genocide taking place.
People are also not silly - If the Palestinian Arab civilians were to perceive that any genocide were taking place, they would flee to Egypt; no one is preventing them from doing so.
