New here - Blue Bird - 01-05-2021 Shalom, my name is Claudia. I'm very excited to be here. Well, my introduction is not so easy because I represent everything that you probably don't like so much. I am german and I am a believer in Christ (since I was an alcoholic and faith brought me out). Why am I here? I read many biographies of Jews and I almost can't believe what my ancestors did to them. I am deeply ashamed of that. The more I read and the more I listen to Jewish music, the more I fell in love. I also saw that you have a thread where you learn Hebrew together, I already know the letters and 50 words. RE: New here - searchinmyroots - 01-05-2021 Hello Claudia and welcome to the forum. Just to let you know the first 3 posts are moderated to help keep out spam and bots. Thank you for your introduction, happy to know you have worked on your alcoholism. We have a wonderful Hebrew language teacher here named Jason. RE: New here - Blue Bird - 01-05-2021 That's great! I learned to sing the HaTikwa with the guitar and as a response an Israelite sent me the text in Hebrew. Then I started identifying the letters and words and bought a course on the internet. Learning alone is hard though. RE: New here - Chavak - 01-07-2021 Welcome to the forum Blue Bird! Everyone is welcome here, glad you found us! RE: New here - marski16 - 01-09-2021 Hi all! I have a quastion about my ancestors from Galicia (Poland). I found in a marriage record in archives the Latin notation de Judaismo next to her name. It means she stayed with her faith? I ll be appreciated to answer. RE: New here - Jason - 01-09-2021 Why is de judaísmo not Spanish? |
