Other then taking the Nazarite vow, is it allowed for a jew to have long hair?

Just to let you know, the first 3 posts are moderated to keep out spam and bots. It would be nice if you made an introduction as well! As far as I know, Jews can have long hair and if I'm not mistaken, many do!

However, when the new temple is built, the Levitical mishmereth ("guardians of the sanctuary") must have their hair cut short and not shaved. Ezekiel 44:20 So unless you are a Levitical priest guarding the sanctuary, there is nothing to worry about concerning having long hair. Just don't shave the sides of your head.
