This post is just in passing to put out the word \u05d9\u05b7\u05e2\u05b0\u05d6\u05b5\u05e8<\/span> in Numbers 32:1. This is the verse in the MT:<\/p>\n

In his zeal for declaring \u05d9\u05d4\u05d5\u05d4<\/span> rightly to be pronounced as Yehovah<\/em>, Ne\u1e25emia Gordon has stated (as have many) that the pronunciation \u05d9\u05b7\u05d4\u05b0\u05d5\u05b6\u05d4<\/span> cannot be an original Hebrew form because (1) the guttural will not take a silent sheva<\/em> in the middle of a word and (2) the vocalization CaCCeh is not natural to Hebrew. Against this, we can call up words like \u05d9\u05b7\u05d1\u05b0\u05e0\u05b6\u05d4<\/span> Jabneh, \u05d0\u05b7\u05e8\u05b0\u05d1\u05bc\u05b6\u05d4<\/span> locusts, \u05d0\u05b7\u05e8\u05b0\u05d9\u05b5\u05d4<\/span> lion, and this toponym \u05d9\u05b7\u05e2\u05b0\u05d6\u05b5\u05e8<\/span> Jazer.<\/p>\n

Essentially, if \u05d9\u05b7\u05e2\u05b0\u05d6\u05b5\u05e8<\/span>\u200e, \u05d9\u05b7\u05d1\u05b0\u05e0\u05b6\u05d4<\/span>\u200e, and \u05d9\u05b6\u05d4\u05b0\u05d2\u05bc\u05b6\u05d4<\/span>\u200e (shows begedkefet<\/em> taking dagesh lene<\/em> after closed syllable with heh<\/em>) are natural in Hebrew, then there can be no argument about the naturalness of \u05d9\u05b7\u05d4\u05b0\u05d5\u05b6\u05d4<\/span>.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
