In my personal opinion, praying for peace once the IDF has completed its operation, is fine. 

While wishing no disrespect to secular people and to those of differing religious views, again in my personal opinion, if by praying for peace it were intended to more specifically seek G-d's assistance in protecting the Jewish people within their ancestral-homeland of Israel, then this is likely to be more successful if Torah-compliant Jewish people who are also Zionist, will offer such prayers. 

The Jewish Scriptures teach us that the enemies of the Children of Israel multiply and become stronger, when Torah-observance is failing among Jewish Israelis.
