I'm looking it over as well and see that a lot of time and events transpired since verse 1!

Bilhah had 2 children and Zilpah had 2 children as well. That seems like may have taken a few years.

Rachel was still barren when the Reuben scene took place and maybe she came to feel differently now. Maybe not right away, but when she realized how Leah actually felt.

But yes, it would have been nice if there was added verse that said something like - "And Rachel was jealous no more"!

Maybe G-d wants us to dive deep into the texts, words and there associations to bring out more meaning.

I agree with that! 

It's great to read the Bibel again and again and each time it’s as if you have a new text in front of you, with new things to discover and learn.

There is a tragic in Rachels life and I feel sorry for her in a way. She watched others have children and stayed childless herself for so long. Then in desperation she exlaimed "Give me children, and if not, I am dead." - and it was when she gave birth to her second son when she died.

Did Jacob have a prophecy about Rachel's death and didn't know it?

Yes Rahels life was really hard. Her life would have been even harder if she had to live through these years when Josef was missing and had to watch Jacob almost break under the burden. I believe it was a deep longing in Josef's heart that his mother could have witnessed the glorious outcome of all the pain.

Good observation with Genesis 31:32. There seems to be a sad connection there. I like her the more I learn about her story.
