Deuteronomy 6:4

Deuteronomy 6:4 is considered the Declaration of Faith for the Jewish people -

Hear, O Israel: The Lord is our God; the Lord is one.

From what I understand, the way it is written in the Hebrew bible, it confirms the role of the Jewish nation as described in many places to be a witness to the nations. There are 2 letters that are written enlarged. One, the last letter of the first word Shema, the other, the last letter of the word Echad. Those 2 letters together form the Hebrew word "witness".

One example where we are called to be a witness would be Isaiah 43:10 -

You are My witnesses," says the Lord, "and My servant whom I chose," in order that you know and believe Me, and understand that I am He; before Me no god was formed and after Me none shall be.

Let's rise to the challenge G-d has given us!

The large letters and their meaning are really interesting.
