Under whose auspices was your conversion and can you set forth the extent of the education you were given in preparation of your conversion?

That information will be helpful in tailoring for you a list of possible texts to assist in your journey into Judaism.

Welcome! I am confused by your question, you are Jewish but new to the faith. Do you mean you converted? Or you were born Jewish but not raised in the religion? What frame of reference are you interested in, Reform, Orthodox, Conservative or??

Hello dman23,

Welcome to the Forum! The following books are, or were, part of a book list for those seeking to convert to Orthodox Judaism.

I do understand that you are Jewish seeking to learn more about Judaism, and I believe these books will assist you because they are at a "beginners" stage and should be easier to read than the other book to which you referred:

i.
"To Be A Jew: A Guide To Jewish Observance In Contemporary Life",
Paperback – October 11, 1991,
by Hayim Halevy Donin.
It's available on Amazon.co.uk
https://www.amazon.com/Be-Jew-Jewish-Obs...0465086322

ii.
"The Book of Our Heritage",
(3 Volume Set) Hardcover – January 1, 1978,
by Eliyahu Kitov (Author).
It's available on Amazon.com
https://www.amazon.com/Book-Our-Heritage...0873061519

On the webpage for each of those books, BELOW the image of the book:
click on the "Read sample" link,
it shows an image of the book - but wait for it to change to the preview mode,
then look for the small vertical scroll bar (top right - the scroll bar is really quite small) and scroll to other pages of the book (you may have to keep scrolling down some way to get to a sample of chapter text).
You can read some of each book and see if it appears to suit you!

Regards.
