While the parashot work well for services, I've always found them to be less so when it comes to text study. Too often there is simply too much of worth to handle in a single week. The triennial cycle helps some, but I'd much rather plod through the works verse by verse. For one thing, in my opinion it's simply the best way to stumble upon new discoveries and perspectives. I agree, there is so much to be discovered in every verse in Torah. At one of the Torah studies I used to attend, it took 8 years just to go through the book of Genesis! Of course there were a couple of breaks here and there, but it shows how much info can be found if you really dig deep into each word.

Eight years? Wow! I don't know if that's impressive or excessive. Smile
