Thank you, German is not my native language however I have managed to achieve a high level through studying over the past 4 years. I would say that i can understand about 60% of Yiddish for the most part just the pronunciation is different, i have heard however that Native speakers of Yiddish can understand German than people who speak German and are listening to Yiddish. This is probably because Yiddish has may words not of germanic origin and instead of Hebrew, Aramaic, Greek and Ladino orginins.
