Despite my initial disappointment facing a seder alone, I have to say that I absolutely enjoyed the unexpected outcome of my "experimental" seder. Since I had absolutely no idea where to start, I searched for online FAQs and how-tos (in good company, apparently, as there were plenty last-minute guides) and dedicated a good day to learn the essentials, last-minute shop at our local kosher store and then enjoyed using what I had in my home to make a seder plate. I then had a wonderful evening of making my way through a very detailed guide, eating, reading and doing. I did not understand everything, but I feel like I learned a lot. I so loved how meaning, actions and the food are all so connected.
I felt really moved and connected. It was a very meaningful and significant evening for me, maybe just the right "version" for me at that moment, after all.
I will add a picture of my makeshift plate later.
