Ukrainians have a historical track record of attacking visible foreigners, such as the Chinese and Indians of which you have previously mentioned. I've even heard of Poles becoming targets of particularly vicious violence, during the Second World War. Visibly traditionally-dressed Jews would also become likely targets, logically. I would guess that this would be particularly likely in ethnic Russian-occupied regions of eastern Ukraine, perhaps because of the country's president's Jewish ethnicity?
