US Ambassador: Settlement expansion is 'stupid, infuriating' | Israel National News - Arutz Sheva

Don't you see most Israelis agreeing with this sentiment? Settlement expansion is illegal and makes Israel look greedy to the rest of the world. I don't get why settlements are still being intentionally enlarged.
If most Israelis did indeed didn't agree with settlements, appearantly it wasn't expressed through the ballot box:

Settlement expansion is only illegal, if international agreements signed by previous governments were breached. When one overlooks this though, this disputed territory was repatriated fair and square in 1967.
The rest of the world can view this from either a Muslim Brotherhood standpoint or from the standpoint of a landlord evicting squatters from his property or from the standpoint of a resident in Paris finally relieved by police action of which broke up the No-Go Zones surrounding Paris.
I would like to know how most Israelis feel about a senator holding office in a foreign country taking the initiative of influencing Israeli policy, through running a parallel government in exile of which has the power of influencing the U.S. government on foreign policy.
