When Jews play their own stereotypes (Alan King, Don Ricles, Wooda Allen etc...) one has to take this light-hearted. This isn't the equivalent of the insultive charicatures of which were drawn by national socialist cartoonists.
It brings to mind how a Native American once appeared on an interview and was derisively laughing at how Hollywood portrayed Native Americans as impulsive savages.
Let's not forget that the oversensitivity to these issues are something new, when looking back at earlier television. Imagine if modern-day Virtue Warriors were to sit in the audience of a Dean Martin Roast:
