Why Wasn't King David Allowed to Build the Temple?
#2
Funny that David couldn't keep his hands off the temple. No, he didn't build it, but he made everything else, even the iron for the nails and I'm sure he enjoyed it. I personally believe that G‑d told him about the blood on his hands (1.Chronicles 22).

Interesting thing about peace and security. Would Solomon have continued David's fight if he had wanted to take all of the promised land, and would David's grandson have built the temple then?
