You are correct Blue Bird good observation!
King David does say that in I Chronicles 22:8 and even again in I Chronicles 28:3!
So, maybe there was more than one reason why he was not aloud to build the Temple.
I Chronicles 22:9 does say with Solomon (whose name means peaceful) there will be peace and quiet in Israel in his time.
