It's amazing you think you understand the Hebrew bible more than those who know Hebrew and spent most of their lives reading it.
Every scroll, every verse, every word and every letter.
It would be nice if you applied this principle to Christian literature.
Blue Bird,
To be honest, I would have to guess the vast majority of people who call themselves Christians not only do not know what the original Greek really says and/or don't really care to know.
Hello searchingmyroots,
do you and most of the Jews outside of Israel speak Hebrew or study the Jewish Bible in its original language? I would guess that most Jews don't study the Tora at all (I may be wrong, but from what I heard here and from Jews elsewhere, Bible study is more of a incidental. Why do you think, you are in a position to judge Christians?
Your sages don't speak Greek, much less the original language of the New Testament, the ancient Greek. They haven't read from Matthew to Revelation, let alone studied verse by verse. Yet they believe they understand the New Testament and can afford to judge. I say they can't.
What you wish for, namely that others respect your texts and teachings, would, in my view, be fair if you also practice this attitude towards others. You aren't an aggressive anti-Christian missionary who doesn't respect his non-Jewish counterparts, are you?
(I don't know how that happened, somehow I posted this twice. then deleated one)
