The sad fact is, Christendom does in fact rank first on the list of Jewish enemies due to reprehensible interpretations that somehow God is capable of not keeping His promises to Israel. This is where I differ from 99% of those that name the name of Christ.
Hitler himself justified his atrocities via the writing of Luther... Albeit, as in the case of Egypt, Babylon, etc. Germany is just another in the long line of antisemites that was a tool to endeavor to humble Jacob and bring them back to God in truth. Judgment is never pretty, but always redemptive if understood.
Islam is the next in line, and this time it will be a time like none before it, or none after - and the remnant of surviving Jews after this coming judgment will be redeemed and look upon Him whom they have pierced and be saved. It falls on Gods people worldwide to be a refuge for Israel in the times to come.
So Bluebird, priorities are NOT ecumenism and inclusion, but redemption and saving Jewish lives from a world that hates them. (As a side note: American Evangelicalism doesn't really support anything at all, and will bend and sway with the wind of world opinion because it depends on the system to hold it up. Just as evangelicalism did in pre Holocaust Germany, so to it will bend to worlds opinions, hoist the flag of Hamas, or whatever name the worldwide anti Jew movement takes at that time, and suckle the teet of the satanic world system).
Also as another side note: "Things" do happen to Jews for the simple fact that they are Jews - a simple and pedestrian study of history shows us this. This is because the promises of God are irrevocable, and Satan seeks to destroy the covenanted people of God before they come to accept the Christ. As goes Israel, so goes the world - because no matter what an arrogant gentile "church" thinks, the Jew is still the apple of Gods eye and the gentile was only given salvation through Jesus because it was rejected by the Jew - this is Gods wisdom to provoke Israel to jealousy.
The purposes of God are always to eliminate the pride and self sufficiency of man so that they come to Him in humility and faith. Once this is realized, and it's obvious from Genesis to Malachi, Matthew to the Revelation, much of what is usually debated no longer even matters.
God resists the proud, but gives grace to the humble.
