So let's break this down. When I read your answer I have the impression that you have chosen the Christian Bible as the enemy of a people and nation. What about secularism, hatred and corruption among the Jewish people, missing to call  on the living God and go to Gods of stone? These are the main things, if I remember correctly, Jesaja adressed. What about the Muslim Brotherhood in Turkey, Egypt and Iran that wants to eliminate the Jewish nation and people, are they not a threat worth fighting against?

Of course, Christians can be proud that they rank first on this long list of enemies in your worldview (this is irony. I find it ridiculous that you would even consider us a threat in today's circumstances. Not to mention that many evangelical Christians in the US are the only ones who support Israel)

The fight against the word of Jesus is a fight against windmills, because you will never be able to defeat it.

I didn't change the topic. You emphasized that things happen to you because you are Jewish. I'm sorry if I read it wrong. My reply may not repeat the exact words you wrote but it expresses the thoughts that came to my mind as I read it.

Blue Bird,

Thank you for your explanation.

I haven't chosen the Christian bible as the enemy of the Jewish nation and people. There are a lot of good things written in it. What I continue to stress is, it is the targeting of the Jewish people for conversion and also how many go about doing so. So we see it as a attempted elimination of our faith (I realize the response would be it is a "completion"). Especially when they spend millions (yes millions) of dollars trying to do so.

So yes, add that to all of the other people, groups and organizations who want to annihilate us, whether physically, mentally or spiritually, it is a constant battle.

But we stood the test of time and as you mentioned referring to Christianity, we will never be defeated. And that is because we have G-d on our side. It never is easy, but we stand strong, especially when we are united. And that is how we handle oppression, with our faith and unity, building stronger.

We don't want to defeat Christianity or any other religion, G- will work all of that out in His own time.

We will always be in the minority, few in numbers, G-d tells us so in the Hebrew bible.

This is how I sum up this thread as to the difference between Judaism and Christianity in understanding their bibles.

In Judaism, G-d tells us in the Hebrew bible we are to study, learn and teach others of His Torah. We do that by examining each scroll, each verse, each word and each letter. That is how we learn and teach to fulfill G-d's instructions. We try and understand why certain Hebrew words are used and why others that mean the same thing are not, what are the differences in meaning? Why do Hebrew words have several meanings? Can we look at the a different meaning and apply it? Maybe reference another part of the Hebrew bible where that word is used?

You see, this is study, deep study and learning so that we can teach.

In Christianity, the way I understand it, the message is what is important, not necessarily the words that are used. And to understand what those words and message mean, you have to be led by the spirit.

So when people come to us and tell us what our Hebrew bible says and means, we ask how they came to that conclusion. Was it study of the Hebrew text? Or was it some other way from another source?

We only have one source, G-d's instructions.

Nonsense.

Sorry for the short answer. I think you know better. Do I need to describe Christian Bible study to you? Or is this just another attempt to reduce Christians to a bunch of stupid children?

A word to the assumption that Jews would be completed when they came to Christ. I've heard that several times, but I find no bibical evidence for that. Paul makes it clear that Jews have advantages over gentiles. The fathers belong to them and the sonship belongs to them (you). When it comes to grace, for Jews there is no starting capital, nothing in the bucket that can be filled up (what I would call completion). Like the gentiles, they start at level zero.

Blue Bird,

No, I know all about Christian bible study, I'm around it every day and have been for decades.

Not sure why you keep thinking I'm saying something bad about Christianity.

When I bring up what certain words mean in the Hebrew to Christians, they tell me I am majoring on the minors.

I have heard it many times, that you cannot understand the Christian bible in its entirety unless you have the holy spirit.

Why do you think I am "reducing Christians to a bunch of stupid children"?
