Why discuss in detail the pros and cons of vaccination? Austria, whose vaccination rate, together with Germany, is one of the lowest in Western Europe, is taking the direct approach with a law that will come into force in February.

„Up to 4,800 euros in two years

Incidentally, the law on compulsory vaccination is set for two years. "There will be four vaccination deadlines per year. If the law is valid for two years, there will be eight times 600 euros fine," explains the constitution minister. For the unvaccinated, this means: € 4,800 fine! However, if the authorities know that they are dealing with an officially known refusal to vaccinate, they can immediately initiate proper proceedings. "There then threaten higher penalties," said Edtstadler.”

The Austrian constitution minister Karoline Edtstadler continues:

"With the introduction of compulsory vaccinations, it is actually illegal to live in Austria and not be vaccinated. And other consequences can arise from this."

Lots of people don't like these laws, but the police always keep things in order:

That is not good news Blue Bird.

I think many of us on some level perceive this kind of behavior will become global.  I was only able to read the link in shaded English once.  Otherwise it's in German and won't switch back.   One sentence, significant for me,  encapsulates the leaders intent, i.e. "we don't want to punish anyone, we just want you vaccinated."  Let that sink in for a moment...

I'm sorry Dana that you couldn't read what was in the link. Here is an article in English:

What shocked me, however, was the declaration of the constitution minister that many residents of Austria will soon be considered illegals. I haven't found that in English yet.

Germany is next. From mid-march healthcare workers have to be vaccinated, that will affect me. In addition, a general vaccination mandate, as in Austria, is in preparation.

I hope it doesn't come to you.

"If you’ve been waiting for more information to get your COVID-19 booster shot, the latest research from Israel suggests just how big of a difference a third dose can make—especially for young people. In the recent study, people 16 to 49 years old were 13 times less likely to test positive for COVID-19 after a booster shot of the Pfizer-BioNTech, even as coronavirus cases in the country surged. The strongest protection began two weeks after the third dose and continued until the study ended a few weeks later..."
