Israel: Media fixation with "the Jewish state"
#1
The Media, in particular TV channels such as France 24 English, frequently choose to describe Israel as:
"the Jewish state",

but they do not choose to point out the major ethnicity of other countries;
otherwise they would presumably choose to do the same thing with:
France - "the French state" (No, I can't say I've heard France 24 say that).
Germany - "the German state" (ditto).

The TV presenters in question may be implying an "ethnostate" against Israel, which is generally regarded as meaning, where: "citizenship is restricted to members of a particular racial or ethnic group":
https://www.lexico.com/definition/ethnostate

Since that does not apply to Israel, it is not an "ethnostate". There are Israeli Arab citizens and Israeli Arab lawmakers.
Israel is a multicultural country comprising: Many ethnic groups including Jews, “Palestinian” Arabs, and people of all faiths. While Israel is a multicultural country with diverse ethnicities and religions, it is also indeed a home for the Jewish people (Re-established within the Jewish ancestral homeland - look up a map of the post-Biblical Hasmonean Kingdom);
something for which the Jewish people have no need to apologize - to anyone !

Reader please also consider the following example countries the Media choose not to mention by their ethnicity as they choose to do with Israel
(no negativity is implied in my listing these countries nor by my placing in bold the word "Arab"):

Arab Republic of Egypt
Syrian Arab Republic
United Arab Emirates

At least as far as immigration is concerned, the goal is a Jewish state. Even if you were born Jewish and have chosen another religion, you are not allowed to immigrate.

Hello Robert, of course the Arabs, Christians and others are ignored when people refer to the Jewish State. On the other hand, even the Christian News Channel TV7 in Jerusalem (mostly Jews who are Christians) talk about the Jewish State. I like that expression, Israel isn't a nation like others anyway.
