I'm not sure if the Tanach is available in German, maybe someone else here can answer that question.

To answer your question though, I would say you can read the Christian Old Testament, but be aware it may not always have the correct translation and can leave a lot out of what the text actually means.

You could always read it and then ask questions here if you have any questions or want to verify something.
