Bar Mitzvah
#1
Hello All -

I need your opinion on something.

My son's Bar Mitzvah is April 2022.

My wife & I are disagreeing about the luncheon afterwards.

We are NOT having a dinner party at night.

My wife is saying a Kiddush Luncheon after the service is fine.

I found a place where it is outdoors. However, because of time, they only have what they are calling a "Picnic Option".

Choices of 4 sandwiches, Tea, salad, etc.  She is fine with the "Picnic option".

However, I am thinking, if you have people coming in from all over the country, it should be a little more than sandwiches and the Kiddush Luncheon.
We are doing an "out of town" dinner"

Just not sure which is more appropriate.

Thoughts?

Thanks.
Dave

What does your son say about it?

We let our son choose how he wanted his Bar Mitzvah. Actually had it twice. Once was at the Kotel and the following day was in a shul for those who couldn't deal with the heat. Afterwards had a self serve brunch. Many of our guests flew in.

It's his day, let him have his input into it.
