  Reincarnation
Posted by: Blue Bird - 11-20-2023, 06:39 PM - Forum: Judaism General - Replies (10)

Hello, I learned here that in addition to the Tanakh, there are several other writings in Judaism, for example the Talmud. I thought that they were all related to the Torah in some way, or that the Torah was the basis of everything.

A Jew told me about his past lives and that reincarnation was a common view in Judaism. This desturbed me very much, but I thought this was a view that only a single person had. Now I came across a video that talked about the Kabbalah teaching and that some people in the Bible were reincarnated as other people later in the book. The Christian Bible says "It is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment."(Hebr. 9:27) and God says to Moshe in Deuteronomy 31:16 "Behold, you are about to lie with your forefathers." Moshe wasn't perfect when he died ("Since you did not have faith in Me to sanctify Me in the eyes of the children of Israel, therefore you shall not bring this assembly to the Land which I have given them." Numbers 20:12) so as I understand it, he was a candidat for reincarnation. But God only fortold his future with his fathers (and thus confessing that they also stay in the land of the dead).

What is reincarnation all about and how did the authors of Kabbalah come to their teaching?

Survey on Palestinian support for the October 7 2023 massacre
Posted by: Robert - 11-19-2023, 08:12 PM - Forum: Israel - No Replies

A survey has been carried out on "Palestinian" Arab views on the October 7, 2023 massacre, with highlights of the results reported by ILTV, Israel Daily News of November 19, 2023:

Quote:“[...] a recent concerning poll [...] found that Palestinians in both Gaza and Judea and Samaria strongly support Hamas and the October 7th [2023] attack.
ILTV's Deborah Klein [my spelling from audio] has disturbing news:

‘In the aftermath of the October 7th [2023] massacre, opinions on the war are sharply divided globally. According to a recent poll by the “Arab World for Research and Development”, Palestinian society appears less divided on the matter compared to the rest of the world. The survey, conducted on November 14th [2023], asked Palestinians about their support for the massacre, with the majority of respondents expressing support for the attack.

Breaking down the data, 63.6% of Palestinians in the Gaza Strip supported the attack to some extent, with 14.4% expressing neither support nor opposition.

In Judea and Samaria the support [for the attack] was higher at 75.2%.

However, a notable 20.9% of Gazans opposed the attack.

When asked about the motives behind the operation, a significant portion believed the attack aims to quote, “free Palestine”;
while others saw it as a move to break the siege on the Gaza Strip.
Only a small percentage attributed the attack to stopping the peace process or stopping [“]settlement[”].

Finally, in defining the conflict, only 18.6% of respondents viewed it as a war between Israel and the Hamas terrorist organization.
The majority 63.6% perceived it as a war between Israel and Palestinians in general,
while 9.4% considered it a war between the western world and the Arab world.’ [...]“

Misleading archives of France 24 English pro-Palestinian propaganda
Posted by: Robert - 11-09-2023, 01:47 PM - Forum: Israel - No Replies

Why are there incidents between Israeli Jewish villagers and "Palestinian" Arabs? Typically, "Palestinian" Arabs farm land to which they have zero permission to occupy, or build on land suddenly during the night in restricted areas near to military installations or without permit within Area C (in contravention of the Oslo Accords) of Judah and Samaria ("West Bank"):
https://www.jpost.com/israel-news/article-735712

The "Palestinian" Arabs at the same time, conduct a war of terrorism against Israeli Jewish civilians on the "West Bank", and the following are some examples:
Rina Shnerb, August 23, 2019:
https://www.bbc.com/news/world-middle-east-49447035
Maia Dee, 20, her sister Rina, 15, and their mother, May 4, 2023:
https://news.sky.com/story/palestinian-g...d-12872594

Without explaining any such possible background to the complaints made in the interview, France 24 English produced what is for them, a typical pro-"Palestinian" Arab propaganda "film" (November 8, 2023) (the piece told only from one side of the issue). When aired, the "Palestinian" Arab interviewed was identified on the audio as "Abdul Hakim" [my spelling from the video audio], but the displayed label for him additionally gave his surname: "Abudul Hakim Wadi".
However, now that the film is accessed from the France 24 English archives, the label identifying the interviewee is missing !:
https://www.france24.com/en/video/202311...eir-land-1

If anyone asks "Palestinian" Arabs how long their family has been in the land, they will tell the interviewer they have been there for "hundreds"/"thousands" of years, are indigenous, and that the Jews are invaders. The "Palestinian" Arabs mostly originate from Foreign-Arab-Migrant-Workers who came to the land of Israel just prior to, and during the British Mandate (1922 to 1948); example source:
https://richardmatherblog.wordpress.com/2015/05/

I have discussed in more detail the latter, and that 84 of 100 of the highest incidence Palestinian surnames ("Palestine region" in 2004), had highest incidence outside that region, here:
"Are the Palestinian Arabs really as they claim, native (aka indigenous), to Israel?":

Legal:
The following information is not about any individual or family, but is about the prevalence of the surname to which it refers:

What has all the preceding information have to do with the above interviewee "Abudul Hakim Wadi"?
Just that the surname Wadi is most prevalent in Iraq:

  question for a parent
Posted by: carrot - 11-07-2023, 09:14 PM - Forum: Judaism General - Replies (10)

Hello, I'm hoping to get some advice. For the record I am not Jewish but I come here in hopes of gaining understanding and help in a matter of your faith.

I've recently had an issue with my son and his use of social media and communications in video games. He has made reference to the holocaust in ways that I think are not intentionally malicious, but are certainly careless and could undoubtedly cause harm or upset. I have spoken to him about this but I don't believe he quite "gets it". I was wondering if any users had any advice on how to address this, particularly on useful resources to point to. He is generally quite emotionally aware and I think he will be receptive.

I just want to make this right and avoid any upset.

I apologise if this topic is upsetting for anyone or if I have mis-stepped on the rules.
