G-d and life is great!
As I wrote in my introduction, I am a German Jew who was born and raised in Germany at the end of WW2. All my family was murdered during the Shoah, except my mom and one of her cousins, who managed to escape to Palestine in 1935. All connections between him and my mom collapsed and I did not even know about him until recently. I grew up without any relatives, because they were all murdered. I am retired now, and decided to try to find out what happened to cousin Fritz Cohnen who out out in time. Today all my searching was answered, and I got in contact with his two daughters, who are a bit younger than I. They live in Israel near Tel Aviv. We are writing to each other as if we are mad, because they, too, grew up without any relatives! We now try to figure out, what is the best way to meet in person, either I visit them in Israel, or they visit me in Florida, or all three meet in Germany (their mother was born in Berlin, and was able to get out early enough, just like their dad, my cousin). We could do follow our roots together, if we meet in Berlin, because I speak German fluently, and they speak Hebrew and English (sadly enough, I don't speak any Hebrew). It is another sad thing as a come out of the NAZI time that we, as relatively close relatives, have each to use a foreign language to communicate with each other!
But I am still very excited that I found my cousins! Us three older girls can conquer the world!

Is this a trial from G-d? Does Judaism have a concept of trials after doing something good like in Islam? I heard there was a saying, "the higher the rank, the higher the test" My anxiety is sky high. I already suffer from generalized anxiety disorder, autism, adhd, ocd, and ptsd. i suffered conflicts with family, including my mom who i am forced to live with due to my disabilities and the expenses of life in america....i got yelled at by relatives....i lost friends...was denied help by a jewish neighbor....IM JUST SO ANXIOUS! i called two different synagogues and emailed them out of impatience in a state of extreme anxiety.

I'm not Jewish, but respect Jews and Judaism. However there is are a couple questions that I have never been able to get a clear answer to, even when I google them. I've talked with the local rabbi, but he is from Israel and I just can't understand what he says due to his accent.
My question is, what does stepping on the glass at a wedding mean?
I'm also curious what a circumcision means. Like why is it a religious event?
I hope I'm not coming off offensive, as that is not my intent in any way. I'm just ignorant about a Judaism, thus I'm curious.

Hi,
I choose this subforum it's really a question of language and interpretation of it.
I wish to know how Jews read in their own language, the passage of Genesis where God curses Eve to bring about lots and lots of children.
Some English translations mention "thy sorrow and they conception. I sorrow though shalt bring forth cihldren" while other say "your pain in childbirth, in pain you will give birth to children". So, what does the text mention explicitely, conception or delivery ?
The meaning is completely different.
Also, what tense does God use, is this an imperative mood, intended to give order ?
Or would it fit with a simple statement of a fact ?
Thanks,
Mehdi

I live in England (East midlands). I am quite new to Judaism, and have not converted yet. I game on Xbox, and I would like to hang out with Jewish people digitally (via Xbox etc). I have a disability, but I can hang out in real life too.
Areas where I am highly knowledgeable are: football (soccer); pro-wrestling; video games. I write content for a pro-wrestling website.
I can make logos using Adobe Illustrator. Free logo for anyone here who wants one, providing you haven't trolled me. I would like to make a logo for this website, though the logo it has looks fine.

Alright so, I am a non-Jew, but I would like to become a Jew.
I live in England (East-Midlands), and, in the town where I live there are no Synagogues. There are two in the same county as me, but they are a long way away, and I don't drive.
I have contacted people at both synagogues, asking them about how I can become a Jew, and they both say that I must do a year long course and attend services and such, before I can become a Jew. One said that I can attend services via Zoom.
Another problem I have is that I have a severe mental illness, and I struggle to concentrate - so I am sceptical that I could complete a year-long course anyway.
I just wanted to make this thread to ask: are there any quicker ways to become a Jew? Like, maybe there are some shorter online courses which have a real-life swimming pool baptism at the end or something?
I just feel a little lost.
To anyone who gives me a helpful reply, thanks in advance.
