The rabbi gave a good and reasoned argument against every point the Jesus guy brought up. A knock out. Not even the loud shirt could help the Christian argument. I was grateful they were not attempting to mumble for one hour through masks or that would have been a larger distraction than the huge words blasted across the Jesus guy's shirt.
To his credit he had the intelligence to recognize when he was beat and did not try to counter with more words but instead, he moved on to more points taken out of context from the Jewish bible. The appeal to Christianity he also admits was an emotional tug, envy for the happiness and energy of the born-again Christians.
He tried to argue the original sin affecting all people and none having the power to move on from their sin. Another good response from the rabbi was why would we be held responsible for what Adam and Eve did as well as counter with what G-d says on our ability to turn from sin.
I wonder if the Christian guy had fully considered Matthew 6:14-15 For if you forgive others their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you, but if you do not forgive others their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.
To the credit of Judaism there is no such threat made.
