ASk the Rabbi Query...
#18
Today I wrote to Ask A Rabbi at Chabbad and Aish Torah_
i CAME ACROSS THIS PASSAGE IN THE LIFE OF uZZIAH: He was buried in a separate grave "in the field of the burial which belonged to the kings" (2 Kings 15:7; 2 Chronicles 26:23). "That lonely grave in the royal necropolis would eloquently testify to coming generations that all earthly monarchy must bow before the inviolable order of the divine will, and that no interference could be tolerated with that unfolding of the purposes of God..." (Dr. Green's Kingdom of Israel).

wHY REBELLION AGAINS THE L-D DECREES?

Hello

Thank you for your question about King Uzziah's life and burial. His story serves as a powerful cautionary tale about the danger of Pride and disobedience to G-d, even for those who start out well.
Uzziah's initial success and properity as king of Judea led to pride and overconfidence, causing him to rebel against G-d's established order by entering the temple to burn incense, a task reserved only for priests. This act of disobedience  resulted in G-d striking him with leprosy, forcing him to live in isolation for the rest of his life.
The manner of Uzziah's burial reflects the consequences of his actions:
-He was buried in the burial field belonging to the kings, indicating he retained his royal status.
-However, he was not placed in the actual tombs with his ancestors but in a seperate grave.
-The reason given was "for they said, 'He is a leper", showing the last stigma of his punishement.
Uzziah's story teaches important lessons:
-Success and strength can lead to pride if not tempered by humilty and obedience to G-d.
-No one is above G-d's law, regardless of position or past accomplistments.
-The effects of sin can have lasting impacts, even beyond one's lifetime.
