| Atonement on Yom Kippur |

I have not been able to find any to provide an adequate answer to this question. The Torah requires the kappara of Yom Kippur to include the service of the Kohen Gadol. This means that without the Beis Hamikdash there is no actual way to achieve the atonement for Yom Kippur, period.
It cannot be claimed that mere prayer is sufficient for this annual atonement because that would be changing the halacha required by the Torah and is not found anywhere. Furthermore, it cannot be argued that mere prayer REPLACES the service of the Kohen Gadol because EVEN IN THE TIME of the Temple people engaged in prayer. Fasting cannot replace the service because fasting on Yom Kippur is a SEPARATE mitzvah that is not restricted to the Temple, but applies in all times.
I'd be interested in people's informed comments about this mystery.

Jews of Iran and Arab World Are doomed |

With the rise of Arab nationialism [1 king/1 religion/1 country/1 people] and Islam fundelmentalism [a "pure" form without contamination by anything '"Western"] plus the assendency of Iran as the "Champanion" of such valves......The Jews who stay in the arab/Muslin states from Morroco to Afghistan from Sudan to Turkey are doomed,,,,,,such as happened to the anti-Jewish pograms of Bagdad in 1941....I have no doubt that the Jewish Communites in the Persian Gulf such as Unites Arab Emerites, and Bahrain will be attacked...by Iran supported groups such as happened to the Jews of Yemem.....Galat Jews in Arab/Muslin states may hope that with their long residence in Galat, their insullarty and their relations with the King/Shiek/President of their "galat" county will protect them...yet they have only three choices to make...
For Life 1] They realize they are in danger and flee to Israel
For Life 2] The Prime Minister of Israel mounts a rescue mission and saves them..despite their wishes to stay in galat...
Doom 3] They refuse any rescue, stay and are destroyed...without mercy
As long as the Jews of Iran refuse to go up They are already doomed. either way because.....
For when Iran launches Jihad against Israel..and WINS.....these rement will be destroyed in triumph
For when Iran launches Jihad against Israel..and LOSES.....these rement will be destroyed in revenge

I almost forgot to share this
6/5/2021 I recently wrote to Ask A rabbi chabad website with the following Query:Query is arrogance and pride the root of rebellion against the L-d?
Examples; A scholar studies Holy Texts for so long he forgets to live the spirit and the meaning of the texts and prides himself on how much he Knows... or an another example one of the first pacts between Abraham and the L-D was circumsision...indeed there is one story of a mother who took this to heart see /the story The-Nazi-Accomplice-in-the-Circumcision yet the Knesset had to produce a film defending circumscision because there is a movement to ban it in europe which would of course adversally effect the last living rements of European Jewry. Is it man arrogance to think he van overturn a decree of the L-d simply by oratory or Legislative fiat? How can a devout Jewish person prevent arrogance or pride from dominationg their lives?

Hi
Great question.
Arrogance and pride are indeed considered an insurmountable obstacle to connecting with G-dliness, to which reason and logic are powerless to combat.
You rightly point out that even a Torah scholar is not immune to this problem, and in fact, can be quite susceptible to it.
Here are two different insightful articles that discuss this general issue and methods to combat it..

Jabotinsky’s Lost Moment: June, 1940 - The Tower - The Tower
august 7, 1938 Jabotinsky to Polish Jews
It is for three years that I have been calling on you, Jews of Poland, the glory of world Jewry, with an appeal. I have been ceaselessly warning you that the catastrophe is coming closer. My hair has turned white and I have aged in these years, because my heart is bleeding, for you, dear brothers and sisters, do not see the volcano which will soon begin to spurt out the fire of destruction. I see a terrifying sight. The time is short in which one can still be saved. I know: you do not see, because you are bothered and rushing about with everyday worries … Listen to my remarks at the twelfth hour. For God’s sake: may each one save his life while there is still time. And time is short.
I want to say one more thing to you on this day of the Ninth of Av: Those who will succeed to escape from the catastrophe will merit a moment of great Jewish joy — the rebirth and rise of a Jewish State. I do not know if I will earn that. My son, yes! I believe in this just as I am sure that tomorrow morning the sun will shine once again. I believe in this with total faith.
Dec 7, 1938 Ben Gurion in the aftermath of Krystilnight Pogram {England offer to accept 10,000 Jewish Children in Germany to England]
If I knew it was possible to save all the children in Germany by taking them to England, and only half of the children by taking them to Eretz Israel, I would choose the second solution. For we must take into account not only the lives of these children but also the history of the people of Israel.”

| Question About the Sabbath and the 7th day of a Festival Week |

Hi, I'm not Jewish, but I'm trying to better understand the word "sabbath" and Jewish holidays.
My understanding is that "sabbath" (among other things) means "the seventh", or "seven", since it occurs on the seventh day of the week.
My first questions is, would that be a correct statement to make?
My second questions is: if there were a 7-day-long festival, such as Passover, or Sukkot, would the seventh day of that festival be called "a sabbath" (not to be confused with the regular Saturday sabbath)? For example, would the 21st day of Nisan be called "a sabbath" regardless of which day of the week it fell upon because it was the 7th day of the feast?
This seems like more colloquial knowledge and I haven't been able to find anything about it searching for it. Thanks for any answers.
