Two questions as to when Jews were permitted to return to Jerusalem...
After the First Jewish Roman war which ended in 73, but when did the Romans permit Jews to return to Jerusalem? Also, even after the Romans permitted the Jews were permitted to return, members of the House of David were not permitted until later, when was the exile lifted for them?
Concerning the Bar Kokbar Revolt, Jews were permitted to return to mourn on Tisha B'Av in 138, but when were Jews permitted to return to reside in Jerusalem?

| How does one convert to Judaism? |

Should I even do it? I'm Muslim or was Muslim but I've long had an urge to convert to Judaism but I had mental health issues and on one forum I kept switching back and forth between wanting to convert to Judaism to ranting about Israel (yes, anti semitic, i know, i regret it), i also suffer from autism and other issues, like potential borderline. but i got bullied by one member to the point i left altogether. but ive still had positive feelings for judaism, and I was too scared to convert since everyone I know is a member of an islamic sect. (not a cult, but many in our home country perceive it that way, lol). i also fear getting isolated again, although ive left islam before, and i know my mother is amazing and would never throw me out of the house. but i know judaism considers islam a noahide religion, and i dont have a license and while my mother may accept my conversion, (although granted it takes at last a year, but i meant the decision) she has refused to drive me to a synagogue and has said to go myself. (no license). i have a job now so maybe i can go with uber myself.

I took Jewish online classes at the library...
After I did that, this is what happened.
This is the kind of stuff I face everyday on the internet, especially on the internet, because Im not native to Judaism, my temperament and my lifestyle is more like my Tutonic roots..
And I'm physically too well built to for somebody just run their mouth to me on the street with all kinds of vile crap..
Because I'm into sports, and I'm into the weights and into the pool, and into the MMA.. lol
But online, where people hide behind a keyboard..
This is what I face everyday..
This is sarcasm that I did...but this is really the attitude that I face..
A guy goes to Penn State, taking up a subject that is beyond his personal competency and aptitude..
It's not his lack aptitude that made him fail his classes, I'm the one who made him fail his classes, and I run CNN too, when the media calls him out as the jerk that he is.
I'm the reason why some 20 year old moron is $18,000 in credit card debt..
Of course, not because he bought $18,000 of video games right?
It's not video games, but me, I'm the reason why he bought $18,000 worth of video games on credit, right?
Somebody buys a house on credit, as is nearly always the case...
He bites off more than he can chew..
It's my fault he lost his house...
I'm supposed to just give him $500,000 of my money... And kiss his butt.. lol
I mean.. it's my fault that he bought a lawyers house, with a cook's job.
And if you believe that, I also have a laboratory in my basement..
And I wanted to see if I can poison the public with some kind of man made respiratory virus..
And that's how covid 19 happened..
It's my fault that somebody got covid.
And I'm also not allowed to do the best I can do in my life...
I mean really... I mean the purpose of my existence in the world, is to have somebody with half of my skills, earn about a third more, just to keep somebody from being jealous of me...
Lol...
It also my fault that the stupid south owned slaves, which is dangerous to do and serves as a liability to the south.. and that of course bad things don't last.. and today they can't just sit on their asses, forcing blacks to do all the work for them...
I'm the reason why they can't do that anymore..
Not human advancement, not evolving thought about the value of human life, not the nature of economics...
But my fault...
I'm the reason why the slave owners can't oppress blacks anymore on the plantations..
And I'm the reason , not human nature...
But me.. I'm the reason why the demands for black civil rights (rightfully) succeeded...
Lol
It's my fault that Derek chauvin committed murder on TV and got what he deserved...
Derek chauvin is innocent, and I own CNN, and with all my billions of dollars, I photoshopped the video to frame Derek chauvin right ?
I mean, killing people on TV is supposed to make people cheer..I mean really..
But why do I face these problems because I took Judaism classes because I found it interesting, and found the Jewish people to be fun to talk to ?

| I have a question about family. |

Hi everyone,
I'm not clear on what the etiquette of this is , so apologies if this question is out of place. This may not even be the right forum - so please feel free to point me elsewhere if that's the case.
I'm not Jewish but I have a question about family that feels appropriate to ask. I have a number of very close Jewish friends, and there's a closeness and a quality to their families that I admire tremendously - but which is starkly lacking in my own. I've tried broaching this with my friends (of Jewish heritage) - but they inevitably laugh it off and segue with a "haha - if only you knew!". As an outsider, I can appreciate that the history of the Jewish people is such that strength of community and family are more than just "nice-to-haves", they are existential. What I'm asking here is in no way intended to minimise that history - but I hope that there is something I can learn to create a better family - and therefore future - for my little ones.
I know there's no such thing as a perfect family, that knows nothing but peace, joy and connection. Life is challenging - so I'm not looking for a key to a utopian dream. But my wife and I both come from families where the discourse is often so poisonous and protracted that generations of families are affected and effectively walled off from each other. On my side - the focus of all of this originates in my parents. It's sad and despite years of trying to negotiate a better pattern - it persists and those efforts only seem to amplify the problem, which I find confusing. This was less of a problem before my wife and I had children - but we now have two amazing little boys.
The arrival of my sons (actually, the announcement of our first pregnancy) enflamed things further. These days, my mother will visit for 20 minutes every month or two, and my father hasn't bothered in months. My two sisters (my boy's aunties) haven't acknowledged, visited or ever even seen our youngest who is almost 7 months, and it's been a been a year and a half since they saw his older brother. Invitations to Christmas were never made, and I've reached the point where I'm consciously choosing to block further contact. And this hasn't arisen from any cultural or religious animosity either. I'm a white, anglo-saxon Australian: meaning we are about as lacking in cultural traditions as anyone on this planet. And it's not COVID - no one in the family lives more than 15 minutes drive from each other. My question isn't how to solve the challenges above - I don't think there is one. My question is about ensuring that my own family doesn't grow to repeat the same mistakes. So why am I posting here?
I’m very fortunate to have a close circle of extremely good friends - and as it turns out, most of them are Jewish. These are friends that I’ve come to know through university, through work and the social networks that grow over time. It’s not a huge circle of friends - but it is a wonderful source of support, constancy and insight. My friends are the very best people I know. Brilliant, successful, happy, hard-working, kind, supportive - and as I mentioned: Jewish. And it's in my Jewish friends and their families that I've noticed a pattern of empathy, intelligence, education, solidarity and maturity that I really admire. My friends are close to their families, and obviously benefit from their involvement. I doubt the cultural tradition is coincidental. In addition, they are well-rounded and driven. They are intelligent, and well-educated. They are successful, yet humble and supportive of others. They have an empathy and tendency to share and support that I appreciate and try hard to emulate. There’s also a quality that is hard to put language to, but that sits somewhere in the middle of love, strength and intention. Nobility wouldn’t be far from the mark - and a lot of them have a deep passion for justice and soecity. I hope you understand what I'm getting at - and it saddens me that it feels so different to what my own family has cultivated.
So my question is this: In your experiences, what is it that cultivates these qualities? I want my family and children to be more are aligned in spirit to that of their uncles (my friends) than they are to their familial legacy. And I’m hoping you all might be able to give me some insight into how this might be possible.
If you made it this far, thank you.
Thank you and kind regards,
Jonathan

Shalom, I need some help understanding these passages, please.
how do you interpret this verse:
Genesis 18 1 YHWH appeared to Abraham near the great trees of Mamre while he was sitting at the entrance to his tent in the heat of the day.2Abraham looked up and saw three men standing nearby. When he saw them, he hurried from the entrance of his tent to meet them and bowed low to the ground.3He said, "If I have found favor in your eyes, my lord, [1] do not pass your servant by.'
Did YHWH Himself appear to Abraham or was it G-d's agent or representative? If it was an angel or YHWH's representative of some sort that appeared to Abraham and spoke to him does it mean the Sacred Name of YHWH can be applied to other beings, too in traditional Jewish belief?
Genesis 19: 24 Then YHWH rained down burning sulfur on Sodom and Gomorrah—from YHWH out of the heavens.
Does it read as if there are two YHWHs in action? From Shema we know that there is One YHWH. I find it hard text to understand, can someone explain this?
Does traditional Jewish belief take the view that some being can also be called YHWH even though YHWH is ONE?
Like an angel in the burning bush.
I would much appreciate your clarifications on this,
shalom!
