I don't know how to explain in English. I use the index finger across the fingerbord instead of a capo if I change the keys. Many guitar grips can be played without the finger across the whole board but with only two or 3 sides pressed down. That's easier for the index finger then. Do understand what I mean?

When I use my index finger across the fretboard it is usually for a bar chord.
I thought a capo moves things up a key. So if I use that same bar chord it is in a different key on the same place of the fretboard. Am I confusing us now???? This might help explain it - Quote:When I use my index finger across the fretboard it is usually for a bar chord. Thank you for the video. I know what a capo does, but I wasn't sure how the cords with the capo are written on the paper (always the same - only that you play it higher, or G major then Gis, A, Ais etc.), that caused my confusion. But viewed from a distance, there isn't a problem anymore as the key can be tranferred easily. Everything is all right, I'm making progress with the text and we will see which key is best.

Sorry Bluebird, didn't mean to minimize your knowledge of music, just wanted to make sure I understood it myself as well!
It is pretty straight forward what a capo does, but using it correctly does seem to require some learning and practice. None of which I have done as I have never used a capo! I saw a friend play with a capo once. He handled it very quickly and throughout his song. It looked like a science in itself. Yeah, today I sang the song for the first time. I think it is my new favorite.

I think these variations are fantastically sung (I'm still looking for Hebrew music; if anyone had a recommendation it would be very appreciated.)
