This is funny. We had the opposite rules here at a garden center called Dehner. Staff didn't have to wear masks, but buyers did.

I think this is an abusive state-people relationship. You won't get any food until you do what we want. Some may know this behavior from sad childhood days.

That company is in Austria. There has been a national mandate for everyone to wear masks indoors.
  • FFP2 masks must be worn in all indoor spaces that are not private areas, i.e. for all stores and for services provided in close physical proximity.

You are wrong. I'm not talking about Austria and their laws don't apply where I am.

The store you listed also exists in Germany and they have the same rules.

medical face masks (either surgical or FFP2 masks) are mandatory in almost all public indoor areas...shopping, including grocery, retail and regular outdoor markets

Thus not wrong.

Lorotzelotzarich,

With all due respect, what is your point?

Stop posting misinformation and thus corrections with links wouldn't be necessary. You trying to flame the topic and make it personal is your issue and not mine. The post made has now been corrected twice as Dehner is only in two countries. Each country now has hefty fines for both employees and customers.

This is an older report, but this exception was in place this summer, too. There are dozens of different rules in Germany.

Just because a "rule" is listed on a website doesn't mean it is strictly enforced everywhere.

Doesn't it make sense to listen to someone who was actually there and experienced it?

There are a lot of stores by me that have signs, some are so old because the goalposts keep moving. They just don't bother to take down the old ones or put up new ones. If they want to enforce a mask rule, usually smaller independent stores have someone by the door giving out masks if you don't have one. Otherwise, many don't really seem to bother.

That's my personal experience anyway, despite what any of the websites might say.

I know this is a touchy subject so let's all try to play nice.

Thanks everyone!

You're link is grasping at straws as it's a old article dated "April 1, 2020".

Yes, I discovered the picture on a USB stick when I was looking for the certificate for my tax return.
