As we come to the beginning of March, I just wanted to take a few minutes to update you on our YouTube activities and where we are going in the near future.

What’s Staying the Same

We will continue to break up our lessons into “hours” (“First Hour,” “Second Hour,” etc.). I’m not sure on what date the following changes will go into effect, but this is the direction that I’m thinking at this time.

The First Hour (הַשָּׁעָה הָרִאשׁוֹנָה) will continue to be our Hebrew reading hour. We have already covered much of Joshua as well as a large chunk of the Psalms, and we’re now reading through the story of King David. This hour starts at 5:00pm (Eastern) and lasts one hour.

The Second Hour (הַשָּׁעָה הַשֵּׁנִית) will continue to be our Hebrew grammar hour. We are currently working through the grammar of C.L. Seow (A Grammar for Biblical Hebrew, Revised Edition), as already mentioned here on the blog. This hour starts at 6:00pm (Eastern) and lasts for one hour and fifteen minutes.

The Third Hour (הַשָּׁעָה הַשְּׁלִישִׁית) will continue to be our Hebrew conversation hour available to our paying Patreon users. This hour starts at 7:15pm (Eastern) and lasts for forty-five minutes.

What’s Changing

We’ve been doing a Greek hour (let’s call it “The Greek Hour” [ἡ ἑλληνικὴ ὥρα]) every week on Discord, going through the books ΛΟΓΟΣ Lingua Graeca (Amazon) and Athenaze for general coverage of the Attic dialect (ἡ ἀττικὴ διάλεκτος). I’m going to suggest an earlier hour for this group, since it’s been running from 5:00am to 6:00am for me, which is not really sustainable on my end. The intention, though, is to keep it on Mondays after the Third Hour.

I intend to open another hour on Thursdays that will be aimed specifically at covering the homework assignments from the grammar book and looking at the reading sections that are assigned there. This will free up time during our grammar sessions so that we don’t have to go through all of the homework at that time. I’m thinking this will be on Thursdays at 6:30pm (Eastern). It will be the “Fourth Hour” in our weekly schedule.

Any feedback or thoughts?
